Sweet Recipe of the Month

My Mum who is almost 90 yrs old, makes the best scones. Every time we get visitors, she whips up a batch for them to have with a cuppa. Served with butter, jam, whipped cream, cheese and some homemade dill pickled cucumbers (my husband grows the cucumbers)

Art Journal Prompt - "Nature's Beauty"

Instructions:    

1. Set aside 10 mins or whatever time you have available.

2. Put your favourite music, something to inspire you.

3. Go outside and collect some flowers, leaves or even weeds, bark, etc, something with texture and different shapes.

4. I used some watercolours today and I painted directly onto the leaves and flowers and pressed them onto my journal.  If you don't have a journal which is code for sketchbook :) Simply used some white cardboard and you can turn it into a homemade greeting card for someone special.

5. I then used some of my marker colouring pens, to add details and wording.  

6. Allow yourself to experiment, play, and embrace imperfection as part of the artistic process.

7. Reflect on your experience and journal about your thoughts, feelings, and discoveries along the way.

 Here’s what you’ll need:

1. Sketchbook or Journal: Choose one with thick, sturdy pages that can withstand various mediums.  Something between 200 - 300 gsm is good.

2. Painting & Drawing Tools: pencils, pens, markers, watercolours, paints, paintbrush.

3. Flowers and leaves, weeds, bark, etc

4. 5-10 mins of time.
