Sweet Balance is a whimsical animation that explores the sweetness and fragility of life. A vanilla cake teeters on a tree branch over a bubbling creek, and as a slice falls gently into the water, it narrowly misses a dissolving chocolate cake below. Birds flit around, a frog watches from a rock, and leaves float softly through a misty forest. The scene is a quiet reminder of life’s constant motion—sweet moments and inevitable changes all flowing together, inviting us to appreciate the beauty in both the joy and the letting go.
Sweet Serendipity began as an oil painting and is now brought to life as a short animation, blending whimsy with a deeper reflection on life’s quiet mysteries. Against the backdrop of a bright blue sky, a dessert plate floats into the frame, carried by a babbling brook. Out of nowhere, a layered chocolate and raspberry cake descends, landing with a soft thud and splash, squishing two waiting raspberries as it settles. The plate, now bearing its sweet cargo, drifts gently away, disappearing from view. This fleeting moment mirrors life itself—how the unexpected can arrive unannounced, leaving a mark as it enters and exits our days. It’s a reminder that life’s beauty is often found in its fleeting moments, in the small, unplanned events that surprise us and make us pause.
This oil painting, transformed into a short animation, captures a whimsical scene in a misty forest where a slightly off-balance cake wobbles gently, its icing dripping into a bubbling creek below. A biscuit-shaped star falls from above, lands briefly on the cake, and tumbles toward the water, only to be caught by a little bird that swoops in and flies off into the mist. The serene, dreamlike setting reflects the delicate balance of life and the beauty in fleeting moments. The imperfect cake symbolizes the joyful unpredictability of baking and family life, where small, shared experiences flow through time, creating cherished connections and lasting memories.
Springtime Bees 🐝 .... can you hear them buzzing? This is from a painting I did and I took the bees and created an animation. Love seeing my paintings come to life!! 😍
My cupcake 🧁 painting has a life of its own! So satisfying to paint something and then bring it to life through animation.
"A playful self-portrait, dressed in my chef's uniform, I juggle a platter while accidentally knocking cookies and dropping cakes. In the background, cheeky Flamingtons ( little characters I made up of lamingtons crossed with Flamingoes - this is what happens when you eat too much sugar!...lol) dance along. Hand-painted and animated, full of light-hearted baking fun!"
